Who we are

Modern Cataract Surgery (“we,” “us,” or “the site”) operates an independent directory of cataract surgeons in the United States. You can reach us at moderncataractsurgery@gmail.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit our contact form, the List Your Practice form, or the newsletter signup, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, and message. When you submit a review of a surgeon, we collect your name as you enter it, your email address, your rating, and the text of your review.

Information collected automatically.When you submit a review, we record the submitting device’s IP address. We use it solely to moderate abuse (for example, detecting bulk or fraudulent submissions). It is never displayed publicly. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to operate and secure the service.

What we do not collect. The site has no user accounts and no advertising trackers. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your information for cross-site advertising.

How we use information

• To respond to inquiries and listing requests.
• To publish and moderate patient reviews. Your review text, first name, and rating are displayed publicly; your email address and IP address are not.
• To send the newsletter you signed up for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
• To operate, secure, and improve the site.

Reviews from other platforms

Surgeon profiles display publicly available Google reviews, synced word for word with the reviewer’s public display name and date, as published on Google. If you wish to remove a Google review, you can do so through your Google account; the change will be reflected here on a subsequent sync. To raise a concern about a review displayed on this site, contact us at the address above.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers that run the site — hosting, database, form delivery, and email — and only so they can provide those services. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention

Form submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle your inquiry. Published reviews are kept while they remain live; the email and IP address attached to a review are kept while the review is live so we can moderate it, and are deleted with the review.

Your choices

• You may request a copy of, or deletion of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing moderncataractsurgery@gmail.com. We honor deletion requests unless we must keep a record by law.
• You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
• Residents of states with consumer-privacy laws (including California) may exercise their access and deletion rights through the same email address. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of selling.

Children

The site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on this page.
