First let me say that I love Drs Ranelle and Dr Pate. I owe huge credit and gratitude to Dr Ranelle for recognizing that I had rheumatoid arthritis and encouraging me to get tested! Most of the staff there have been there long term and I really appreciate that. I had actually left my debit card laying on a window sill at Melt on Magnolia, and one of the staff members saw it and remembered I was a patient and got the card back to me. Now to address a couple of issues that others have commented on, yes sometimes the girls up front arent as friendly, but I have never had one been totally rude while in the office. I have had a couple act like it was a inconvenience when I call, but it could be that they take a high volume of calls and don't have time to be a cuddly wuddly. Yes, they do tend to run behind and I do wish they could let us know be arrival, but Ive learned to try to schedule my appointments where I have nothing to do after my appointment and it has made it less frustrating for me.

Be ready to wait! It was my first time here and I left extremely disappointed and frustrated. My 2 year old was referred here we should up 15 minutes early making sure we got there early to sign papers as required. We were called in to the back, she got some drops put in her eyes to dilate them and were told to wait about 30 minutes. We waited ONE HOUR AND A HALF. 2 yo was so patient but at this point she had enough, she was tired and wanted a nap. I asked how much longer and was told we were next. About 15 min later we were called in to the room we waited in there again for a few minutes my daughter was already closing her eyes falling asleep and I was doing everything possible to keep her awake. A toddler can only be patient for so long especially when they are tired. I walked out the room frustrated to ask if we were going to be seen when Dr Ranelle was there and rudely said “I mean I can” as she was about to walk in. I expressed my frustration that my daughter was patient enough, she was falling asleep, needed a nap and we have been waiting for 2 hours and her response was “well thats how it works”. Excuse me? That’s how you talk to your patient? After making them wait for you but looking at the reviews oh they can’t be late 15 minutes because they will be reschedule but we are suppose to wait hours? Make it make sense. Value others time too. She told me tiredness was a side effect of the dilation. Ok so if that’s a side effect and you know that then why would you have a toddler wait 2 hours knowing they are going to get tired and sleepy?! You would want to get them in as soon as possible. Adults can control their tiredness but a child cannot! 0 stars if possible.

I called to make an appointment, and the receptionist did not even ask for insurance info to check the benefits and just said your insurance will not accept our exam. You have to pay out of pocket. I see now what the negative reviews are all about. The staff do not want to be bothered by minimum work I think is needed for taking care of patients at a Dr. Office.

Dr Ann Randle is AWESOME. She corrected my strabismus (cross eyes) removed my cataracts, installed new artificial lenses. My eyes are better than they were in the fifth grade when I start wearing glasses. Btw, I'm 66 yo. Highly recommend

Dr. Ann Ranelle is actually an Opthalmologist/ Pediatric Opthalmologist. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting her as of yet, however my parents have known her and family for many years. They have used her and her father both and dearly loved them. My father used to be a surgical RN and worked with her father in surgery. My parents highly recommend Dr. Ann Ranelle. UPDATE: My mother (disabled and in a wheel chair) was 18 minutes late to her appointment due to multiple unforeseen circumstances. She is having major difficulty seeing anything, even with her glasses on and desperately needs a procedure to clear it up, which was supposed to be done this day. She has always had to wait over an hour to be seen, but that obviously didn't matter to them, because they wouldn't make any exceptions, even for 2 disabled elderly people that used to work with Dr. Ranelle, who had trouble that day getting there on time. I do understand that doctors have to make these type of policies to prevent them from getting extremely backed up. However, if you are an established patient, who has never been late, exceptions can and should be made, especially given the circumstances. One more thing, the office staff isn't the friendliest bunch from what I'm reading in the reviews and this was made fully evident on this day in front of the entire wait room. The patients waiting all seemed extremely upset for my mother and the situation. From now on, I'll get them to wherever they need to go... but it will not be back to see Dr. Ranelle. I'm very disappointed!

Dr. Ranelle is an amazing doctor and surgeon. I have had three procedures by her, and all three have turned out exceptionally well. I returned to work the very next day after each of these procedures. Her staff is extremely efficient, helpful, and courteous. Dr Ranelle’s office is clean and well lit.
