I am now at NY LASIK Laser and Microsurgery. It is 1:15 PM, and we are beginning the fourth hour of waiting for a 10:00 AM appointment for my son. I have no idea if Dr. Leonard Bley is a decent doctor. What I do know is that only his time seems to be of importance. I am fed up with doctors like this who have no regard for their patients. Not once during all this waiting time did anyone give us an apology, an explanation, or an idea when my son's 10 AM appointment would be honored. How about an apology and a suggestion to go for breakfast (or lunch!)? How about recommending that we take a walk? I can assure you the staff was all kinds of attentive when we arrived, immediately ushering my son into a room to pay for the procedure. After that we never heard from a single person on staff. Complete silence—no interest in our well-being nor Interest in keeping us apprised. We New Yorkers are fortunate to have the finest doctors to choose from. Henceforth, I will only use or recommend doctors who display respect for their clients’ time and psyche. My son had to endure hours more anxiety than necessary sitting in the waiting room watching the clock as the hours ticked by. Shame on you NY LASIK Laser and Microsurgery. There are many great eye doctors. Choose one who displays concern, interest in their clients, and shows respects for your time the way he or she protects theirs.

Dr. Bley did a great job correcting my vision from -7 to better 20/20 - 15 years ago! My optometrist always remarks that "they did a great job" when looking at my corneas, and said so again just the other day. My optometrist had his own referral for PRK and LASIK, but I went Dr. Bley because my bosses and colleagues had great results. Dr. Bley noticed that my pupils naturally dilate widely and asked me if I still wanted to get the procedure, as I may have halos in my night vision. I wasn't even aware and a bit shocked. He said I probably have them already, especially if I'm tired. I did, but was so used to it that i didn't think about it. I have them now, too, but can still see very well. There was another patient there who was considering LASIK or PRK and was told that it wouldn't be possible to correct to 20/20 but it would still be a tremendous improvement. Dr. Bley is very clear on setting realistic expectations in my experience. I had to get PRK and not LASIK due to the shape of my eye. The recovery time was longer, but there is neither a permanent flap nor risk of dry eyes from cutting the nerves that help trigger tears. With PRK I had the procedure on Friday and went back to work the following Wednesday. While it healed over a couple of months, my vision was 20/20 but just a little cloudy. My eyes were not sore, though, after only a few days. I was glad I had PRK over LASIK, despite the longer recovery. The only negative is if they still have the referral program. For me, I referred several people, but they did not honor it with a referral bonus. When I called, they told me I had gotten my eyes done too long ago. So don't even bother with it. Just get your eyes corrected and be done with them.

Doctor was great, but when I attempted to get my Prescription information, total nightmare, was told it would be emailed and when it wasn’t I was hung up on me 3 times.

Highly recommend to everyone!!! Dr. Leonard Bley is the BEST!!! Our family ophthalmologist in the past 13 years. Extremely professional, talented, with magical manual dexterity. My husband had his LASIK done at the Manhattan location in 2015 and until now he still has the best results. I decided to do mine because I didn’t want to wear glasses. My LASIK was done in a few minutes and the results are amazing. I could see right away. Amazing staff, they do anything and everything to help you and get you the best care. We are treated like a family. We love all of his team members and are very grateful to have Doctor Bley as our family ophthalmologist for many years!!!
