It was disappointing to hear that the medically trained ophthalmologist that I have seen annually for the past 25+ years as follow up to my initial surgery has decided they no longer have time to conduct annual exams for their long term existing patients, and are only interested in taking new patients for surgical purposes, adding only more patients to an already overloaded practice! Making money over providing medical attention seems to be the new precedence! Their answer in providing continuous adequate care is passing you on to one of their optometrists, the difference of 8 years of education versus 12 years of medical school. They have already stated their optometry staff is fully capable, however, if I wanted to see an optometrist I could have gone to Sam's Club for a fraction of the cost. I doubt the exam cost now will reflect the difference in doctors care! As a primary partner, I hope Dr. M. gets this message!

Response from the ownerThank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We understand how a change like this can feel, especially for long-time patients. As Chicago Cornea Consultants has grown, we've added new doctors and have another MD joining our team soon. This growth has allowed us to move to a coordinated care model, where our optometrists manage routine annual exams and our ophthalmologists focus on surgical and specialized medical care. Our optometrists work directly alongside our physicians, and any findings that need a surgeon's attention are addressed quickly, often the same day. This model is designed to give every patient more access to the right level of care, not less. We're not able to discuss any individual's care in a public forum, but we'd genuinely like to hear more about your experience. Please call us at 847-432-6010 and ask to speak with a manager. We want to make sure you feel taken care of and would be happy to schedule you with one of our ophthalmologists if you prefer.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life trying to schedule an appointment. I had an urgent referral. On hold for an hour. Every now and then someone picks up, tells me to hold, and puts me on hold for another 15 mins. I finally got through to someone, BEGGED them to not put me on hold anymore, and nearly got an appointment scheduled for 4 days from now. Then I made the tragic mistake of asking if there was any chance they could get me in sooner. The lady said, "Please hold while I check," and put me on hold forever. I give up.

Response from the ownerWe’re very sorry to hear about this experience. We understand how frustrating it can be to have difficulty reaching our team, especially when trying to schedule an appointment. This is not the level of service we want anyone to experience. We would truly appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly and help make things right. Please contact our office and ask to speak with a manager, or email us at info@chicagocornea.com so we can assist you as quickly as possible. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback is important to us and helps us improve.

Very disappointing experience with Dr. Neel Vaidya During my appointment, he rushed through the visit and barely took the time to answer my questions or explain my treatment. To make matters worse, the eye drops he prescribed caused severe swelling in my eye. Very unprofessional And disrespectful doctor. Never Going Back

Response from the ownerWe’re very sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention. Providing excellent patient care and clear communication is extremely important to us. To protect your privacy, we are unable to discuss details of your care in a public forum. We would welcome the opportunity to learn more about your experience and address your concerns directly. This place like to jam in more patients than they can handle, and you end up waiting 1+ hours after checkin to see a tech or doctor. It's an EYE FACTORY, and the conveyor belt gets jammed up because they stuff too many patients well beyond capacity. On the flipside, they want you to pay up immediately.

Response from the ownerThank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that your time is valuable, and we're sorry your experience did not meet your expectations. As a specialty ophthalmology practice, our appointments often involve multiple diagnostic tests and comprehensive evaluations, so visit lengths can vary based on each patient's medical needs. In addition, our office is home to multiple physicians, so a full waiting room does not necessarily reflect the schedule of any one provider. Our goal is always to provide each patient with a thorough evaluation and the time needed to address their eye health. We appreciate your comments and will continue working to improve the overall patient experience. If you have any additional concerns about your visit, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly. Please feel free to contact our office and ask to speak with a member of our management team so we can better understand your experience.

My mom went here for her one-year post-op appointment after her cataract surgery and also wanted to have an eye exam. During the visit, she mentioned that she’s been seeing flickering lights in her eye and has been getting dizzy at times. Instead of listening to her concerns, the nurse became rude and defensive. My little sister was with my mom, and the doctor acted like they were blaming her personally. She kept saying, “That has nothing to do with our office,” instead of showing any concern or trying to help. My mom also talked about getting eye drops during the appointment, but no prescription was ever sent. When we called the office to ask about it, the receptionist just said, “I don’t know, you’ll have to talk to the technician.” Then we were told the technician wouldn’t get back to us for 24–48 hours. It felt like no one wanted to take responsibility or help. No one expects perfection, but patients deserve to be treated with respect and have their concerns taken seriously. The lack of communication and the attitude we experienced were unacceptable. The people are incredibly rude here!

Response from the ownerThank you for sharing your concerns. We’re very sorry to hear that your family felt this way after the visit. We take patient experience, communication, and respect very seriously, and we never want anyone to feel dismissed or unheard. Because of privacy regulations, we’re unable to discuss any details of care in a public forum. We would appreciate the opportunity to better understand what happened and address your concerns directly. Please contact our office and ask to speak with our management team so we can look into this further. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

Cassandra Tanya and Dr Maria Rosselson were very efficient & friendly. State of the art technology is beyond my comprehension! Thank you CCC clinic for your great eyecare to me as a senior citizen. I forgot to mention Ivan! He assisted Dr. Rosselson with part of my exam that didn't compute properly the first time, so needed to get that left eye redone. Thank you!
