Dr. N. Amin is a board-certified, fellowship-trained retina specialist and founder of Ocean County Retina. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse and completed both his ophthalmology residency and a prestigious Vitreo-Retinal Surgery fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center under renowned specialists Dr. Everett Ai and Dr. Richard McDonald.
About Dr. Haris I. Amin
Dr. Amin is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, and has participated in global ophthalmic education through ORBIS International. Before founding his practice in New Jersey in 2004, he held retina subspecialty positions in Illinois and Georgia.
His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Retina, Ophthalmology, and Archives of Ophthalmology, and he has authored chapters in key ophthalmology textbooks. Dr. Amin continues to lecture at specialty conferences and enjoys biking, baseball, and time at the beach with his family.

I give him 100 stars. Highly recommend him for macular surgeries He explained the severity of my condition that had to be addressed immediately. SURGERY EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL My suggestion listen to him. Follow directions. I am very happy that I had an amazing doctor. My hole is closed. I could never share in this space all that Dr. Amin and his awesome staff did for me. They are all friendly, knowledgeable and comforting. Jen coordinates your surgery. I couldn't have gotten through it without her. I never felt I was alone. Jen was there whenever I needed an answer or help in any way. If I dialed her she was always there. The day I needed to see my primary doc for clearance, I had 15 minutes before my doctor HAD to leave. The tech informed me that she didn't receive my blood work results. I knew Jen sent them, because she called me earlier that day to tell me they were sent and she had a confirmation of them being received. But the tech had me in a panic, because she said without them I'd had to reschedule surgery. I came this far, I couldn't do that all over. I called Jen and, on speaker phone with the tech she confirmed the FAX number she sent it to earlier and resent the results. Jen then s stayed on the line with me till the tech confirmed she had them. I had to go into the doctors office alone because of Covid, but I never felt alone, because Jen was with me, keeping me as calm as possible and getting me the clearance I needed. I just want to thank Dr.Amin and Jen and his awesome staff for everything they did for me during my journey to restored vision.
Dr. Hagee completely restored my vision after a terrible cataracts surgery left me with lens fragments cutting my retina. Dr. Hagee removed the lens fragments during the first surgery thereby saving my retina and then he secured a new lens during my second surgery. After the cataracts surgery I was in so much pain, my vision was hazed over and large jagged floaters were cutting into my retina. Dr. Hagee remedied all of that. Truly he saved my eyesight. Throughout the process Dr. Hagee was very personable, he very clearly communicated and explained everything in detail, he answered all my questions, and treated me in a very humanistic and compassionate way. I can't thank him enough. No pain, no floaters, my retina intact, and back to regular vision. Life is normal again. All because of Dr. Hagee. Need a Retina Specialist or help after cataracts surgery? Can not say enough good things about Dr Amin and his staff. Their office fit me in stat when my eye doctor called over to them and then proceeded to assist me for appointments with other doctors. Dr Amin and his tech were very informative and thorough as well.
Ocean County Retina and staff are in my experience the only Retina specialist's one should consider. Dr. Gloth has saved & restored my vision from Diabetic Retinopathy & floaters. Through his skill my eyes are no longer in danger of further vision loss. I would certainly recommend O.C.R and will continue to place my vision in their care.
