Dr. Kerry Hunt, MD

Dr. Kerry E. Hunt, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist with extensive experience in LASIK and refractive surgery, cataract treatment, and glaucoma management. He practices at Raleigh Eye Center, serving patients from across North Carolina, including Raleigh, Cary, Chapel Hill, and surrounding communities.

Dr. Hunt earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. His distinguished military medical career includes serving as a Flight Surgeon with the U.S. Marine Corps and as Staff Ophthalmologist at the National Naval Medical Center. He also served as Specialty Leader for Ophthalmology with the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, U.S. Navy.

Dr. Hunt is renowned for his expertise in small-incision cataract surgery, performing more than 1,000 procedures each year. He stays at the forefront of surgical innovation, offering laser-assisted cataract surgery using the Alcon Lensx femtosecond laser and premium lens implants, including multifocal and toric intraocular lenses.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
