Dr. Albergo earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences Center and completed his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Nassau County Medical Center, where he received extensive training in cataract surgery, lens implantation, glaucoma treatment, and laser procedures.
He is a skilled lens implant surgeon and offers LenSx® bladeless-assisted cataract surgery for enhanced precision and outcomes. His practice also includes glaucoma surgery, dry eye diagnosis and treatment, and routine eye exams.

Top ophthalmologist in the state of Connecticut
I'm one of those people who would almost rather die then have somebody touch my eyes (or even put eye drops in my own eyes). I had an eye infection type thing going on, and was referred to Dr.Albergo. Well, Dr. Albergo was kind and understanding, and his assistant Vanessa is a rockstar, and kindly and patiently explained things to me slowly as she went, and gave me time if I needed a minute. Not only did I get through the exam, but now I look forward to them taking care of my eyes and visiting them annually going forward.
Went to Dr. Albergo for a second opinion on an eye issue. Dr. Albergo was able to see me on short notice and took my symptoms very seriously. I first called his office as a new patient late in the afternoon and I had an appointment for early the very next morning. He did multiple tests and listened to everything I told him about my symptoms. He even took the time to call me the following day to ask how I was doing. All of his staff were excellent as well. They were friendly and professional, and showed compassion when I was upset about my symptoms. Highly recommend! I’m very grateful for the care from him and his office.

I was very pleased with my visit there to CT Eye Care center. I was having an issue with my eyes and Dr. Albergo was able to solve the issue and my eyes have been feeling great ever since. It was my first time there and I'm so glad I made the appointment there! Very pleased, and a very good doctor! highly recommend!
