Dr. Swan is a fellowship-trained anterior segment surgeon and ophthalmologist based in Montana, with advanced expertise in cataract and corneal procedures. He completed his fellowship at Vance Thompson Vision in 2016 and now leads teams in both Bozeman and Billings. Dr. Swan is also an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Utah and an active participant in global ophthalmology initiatives.

Since completing his advanced anterior segment surgery fellowship at Vance Thompson Vision in Sioux Falls in 2016, Dr. Swan has become a leading surgical specialist across Montana. He currently directs ophthalmology teams in Bozeman and Billings, where he offers patients the latest in cataract, corneal, and anterior segment care. His approach blends surgical precision with a deep commitment to restoring and preserving vision for patients across the region.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Swan is actively involved in ophthalmic education and global health. He serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Utah’s Department of Ophthalmology and sits on several national and international committees, including the Young Eye Surgeons (YES) Clinical Committee and the ASCRS International Foundation Committee. A past recipient of the 2018 Millennial Eye One to Watch Award, Dr. Swan has led numerous surgical mission trips to Central America. He partners annually with the National Residency Training Program at Hospital San Felipe in Honduras — the only program of its kind in the country — where he trains local residents and helps restore vision in underserved communities.
