I only remember a few things about kindergarten: playing handball during recess, watching Matilda eat paste, and learning the golden rule. The simple maxim of Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, which I learned when I was 5 years old, applies perfectly to the practice of medicine. I actually consulted with three other surgeons first, but none felt right. The first rushed me, didn't explain lens upgrades, and just stressed that my narrow angles put me at risk for a painful pressure attack. The second pushed expensive trifocal lenses ($8,100 extra per eye compared to the first doctor's $5,500) and ran an office that accidentally overcharged me. The third had a lower fee than the others but said I needed to get laser holes in my iris before cataract surgery—something I definitely did not want—and gave conflicting advice about lenses. Thankfully, I found Dr. Devgan. From the moment I arrived at his beautiful office (which has incredibly easy parking), the experience was entirely different. When I met Dr. Devgan, he was incredibly patient and answered every single question. Unlike the others, he gave me honest, clear information, explaining that because my pupils are small, a trifocal lens wouldn’t give me the full range of vision. Instead, he recommended the Toric PureSee lens and assured me I’d be happy with the results. The surgery itself was a breeze—honestly the most pleasant surgical experience I could imagine. The entire surgical center staff was kind and polite. Dr. Devgan has a wonderful bedside manner and even monitored me personally while my eye was being dilated. There was absolutely no pain, I only needed light sedation, and the most uncomfortable part of the whole day was just getting the IV put in! Even though I’m just a couple of days out and still a bit blurry as it heals, I could see an instant improvement the moment I opened my eye. Dr. Devgan completely removed the risk of a closed-angle pressure attack and gave me the gift of a healthy eye with better vision than before. He is a highly skilled, approachable surgeon who even answers follow-up questions quickly via email. Both of my eyes need surgery, but this first one was by far the worst. Now that it's done, I am absolutely going back to Dr. Devgan for my other eye. I cannot recommend him enough.

He is in a category all to himself. If you need the best of the best, this is your doctor ! I had a very complex dense brunescent cataract that can put the fear in even the best eye doctors, I did a lot of research and Dr Devgan quickly rose to the top of my list to save me from going completely blind in my right eye.
