William L. Benedict, M.D. has been with the Eye Care Center of Northern Colorado for nearly 30 years as a board certified ophthalmologist and retinal specialist. He serves as director of the Retinal Center of Northern Colorado and is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado Medical School. His extensive training and experience in the use of ocular lasers and current vitreoretinal techniques ensures his patients have the most sophisticated care and retinal treatments.

After earning his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, Dr. Benedict received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine. He went on to complete an ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation followed by two years of vitreoretinal fellowship training at Texas Tech University.

Extremely disappointed in this first appointment. My view of my Dr was a guy with little time for patients, hurried like he just drank a dozen Red Bulls and left his skate board outside the door. One of the eye exams was not complete, so he said he “guessed” what it “probably” was and “retest in 6 months.” Guessing? Isn’t this the techs job to see that missing information immediately and retest while I’m sitting by the scanner? He said I have moderate macular degeneration, flippantly said to eat more leafy greens. I was given a 101 Basics sheet of information and suggested to get a consult with the retina specialist costing thousands, per the tech, since the Dr jetted out of the room. Clearly not a place to get solid education and support. Since that appt I know of two others who never went back after their initial appt. Too many practitioners? No supervision? I’ve experienced this before. Ridiculous.
A totally enjoyable experience. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Dr. was knowledgable and thorough in explaining everything clearly.
Repetition and unorganized: I don't think I needed to have pictures taken for a well eye exam when I’ve been having the pictures taken every six months, particularly just three weeks prior to watch my retina. I wish someone would have just checked my vision when the retina was checked. we all have lives and busy schedules! I take work off to go see the Dr. On my annual vision test visit, an attendant tested my vision, took pictures I just had taken three weeks ago, and then the Dr tested my vision again. It all seemed repetitive. It was not thought out well - my eye care and visits. When I checked to be seen, thank God, the receptionist caught some of the repetition and a financial guy came out to talk with me. It took about 5 minutes to figure out what they’d do at the front desk (!) and I was charged $160 not $250. I sure wish healthcare providers would take a good look at care plans!! Is that too much to ask? I do not think so. Plans not silos!! i’m
there's some shady activity but its because they sell sunglasses and are cool people for the mist part know how to take care of people eyes i havent seen my optomotrist, dr , elizabeth burton for a couple years, i dont know if shes even there dr jensen in an amazing surgeon with magical hands
