Gary Wörtz, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Commonwealth Eye Surgery in Lexington, KY and is among the busiest cataract and refractive surgeons in the United States. About Gary Wörtz
Beyond being a surgeon, consultant and educator, Dr. Wörtz is a successful inventor and entrepreneur. Ten years ago, he founded Omega Ophthalmics with the mission of developing a new inraocular implant platform. He has been granted 50 patents in the US and internationally. He also co-founded Arcuate Innovations, which provides evidence-based guidance for the surgical correction of astigmatism to ophthalmologists around the world.
Dr. Wörtz has been the principal investigator on numerous FDA trials leading to the approval of new drugs in the ophthalmic space. Additionally, he shares his insights and opinions through his podcast, Ophthalmology Off the Grid, which has received over 100,000 downloads over its 100 + episodes. He frequently lectures at major ophthalmology meetings and is passionate about driving the profession forward through innovative research and publications.

I would have like to have seen him. I don’t know what he looks like, never spoke a word to me. “Hi there! How are you doin today?” Goes a long way to ease a patient. I think you should be able to meet the person that cut on you. 🤷🏻♀️
