Words cannot accurately convey how disgusted I am with Kerry Solomon and his office staff. I had Lasik done by him in 2003 and it was great. He was great. He met with me at every visit. When the Lasik started wearing off a few years ago, I inquired about having it again. I went to his office twice in December and told them each time that Solomon had done the Lasik in 2003. I did not get to talk to him at either appointment, but I paid $4,100 to have my long-distance vision corrected. A week before my surgery, a staff person called to say they just discovered I had already had the Lasik, so couldn’t have it again. Instead I would get PRK surgery. There was no explanation of what this entailed. I asked and she said it’s the same, but the recovery time is a little longer. I asked how much longer and she said a week. Well…that was almost SIX MONTHS AGO! I still cannot see! Right before the surgery (about two minutes before), he walks in and tells me I won’t be able to see to brush my teeth. I knew I would need reading glasses…but still, his bedside manner really leaves something to be desired. Each time I went back for check-ups, I told them that I still couldn’t see the tv or road signs when driving. They ignored me. Finally I saw another ophthalmologist at a free clinic who said my eyesight should be better by now. I saw the optometrist at Solomon’s office who said he could maybe do touch-ups, and I “have a year”. Like, his services EXPIRE then? This is the worst doctor practice I have ever encountered. I saw him again and he said stop the steroid drops. I did but my eyesight still did not improve. I scheduled an appointment with him back in May for mid-July and his office called to reschedule, with no reason given. I work in Savannah as a travel nurse, so had to rearrange my whole work schedule and plan this trip home months ago, only to be jerked around. Not to mention how rude he was during the surgery, barking orders at me. No one in that office, at any time, apologized for this whole inconvenience. No one offered any reassurance or explanation for their mistakes. They also called in the wrong eye drops for after my surgery which I paid for. They acted like I was being difficult and unreasonable for demanding that they reimburse me. I would give them zero stars if I could. Solomon has really lost his way to incompetence and greed. Now I just want my $4,100 back so I can get my eyes fixed by a doctor who has integrity. And they should not bother saying call the office manager! That is pointless! I’ve tried. She is unreachable!! Avoid this black hole at all costs!
