I urge you to find another surgeon. I chose Dr. Mandel for my cataract surgery after researching and meeting with several surgeons. I picked him based on my optometrist's recommendation and his experience with LAL lenses. It was the worst medical decision I have made. Today, my vision is worse than it was before the surgery. My first surgery did not go well, and I needed a second surgery to correct it. When the IV was being placed for that second surgery, I asked him one question. He told me he "would not answer it, would not explain anything, because I wouldn't understand," and that if I didn't like it I could leave. I was stunned. I stayed, because I needed the corrective surgery and had no other option. I had already paid $5000. After the second surgery, I was still dealing with eye issues. I had to find a new surgeon to do more surgery and finish my treatment. In total I paid for two full surgeries, about $10,000, and I still have permanently reduced vision & daily pain. I'm still shaken by how I was treated. A patient asking a question about their own eyes deserves an answer, not dismissal. He had the same attitude with me at every visit. My vision is botched. I wish I had walked out when I had the chance. I've never been treated so poorly by a medical professional in my life.

As good an experience as I could hope for. Warm and welcoming staff. Excellent support team. Quick and efficient surgery. After experiencing extreme post anesthesia nausea after the first eye, I was worried about the second but the anesthesiologist modified her "recipe" and all was good. Highly recommend.
