Dr Rowen did excellent job removing cataract in my left eye. See attached photo. Cataract looks like a starfish. She used cutting edge laser technology to remove the cataract and replace my lenses with advanced light plus lenses. I can see more clear and am very happy with the results. I highly recommend Dr Rowen and her staff.
When you consider having someone cut into your eyeballs for cataract surgery, you have to consider VERY carefully who that someone will be. Once my optometrist determined that my cataracts were ready to be surgically removed, she provided me two names of qualified surgeons and having reviewed each surgeon’s background & qualifications, I chose to go with Sheri Rowen, MD (NVision) in Newport Beach. To say I was supremely nervous is understating how I felt, and Dr. Rowen calmly answered (more than once, and more than twice) my questions about types of lens implants, the pros and cons of each, and what to realistically expect from each type of lens. Dr. Rowen even responded to my voicemail on a Sunday (which happened to be a serious holiday) and prior to my first surgery reviewed once again the pros and cons of each type of lens. More positive input is that NVision timely communicated with me regarding various aspects and medications (eyedrops) for each of my surgeries/procedures, and even more positive input is that the surgery center where the procedures took place was very easy to find, clean & well organized, with excellent staff who helped make the process much easier than I thought it would be. Post-surgery checks with NVision and my optometrist went well, and post-surgical LASIK touch-ups and YAG procedures with Dr. Rowen went very well. I truly encourage you to consider the well-known phrase, “You get what you pay for,” and I’m truly grateful for Dr. Rowen’s knowledge, skills, experience, patience, and care.
My wife had what was supposed to be the best lenses for her eyes she went from having cataracts, and now can barely see. very disappointed. I do not recommend. First off, they convinced her to do the surgeries one week apart if she had just waited to see if the first eye was a success. Maybe she could see a lot better, but now both eyes are F%%ed up.
Dr. Rowen performed my cataract surgeries. My situation was an emergency. She was extremely compassionate, allaying my anxiety regarding the loss of my sight. She has been informative and communicative during this horror and continues to be supportive. She is an acclaimed surgeon, extremely respected in her field, serving on advisory boards, as a consultant, on speakers' bureaus, etc. She is currently focused on understanding the causes of DED, among other specialties. If you value your sight, Dr. Rowen is your Doctor.
I had LASIK with Contoura with Dr. Rowen back in April 2021 and it was hands down one of the best experiences of my life! Dr. Rowen is amazing! This whole experience has been life changing! I’m grateful everyday for my amazing vision! Dr. Rowen gave me the ability to see clearly when I wake up every morning now. Everyone at the office made this experience for me super easy and I couldn’t thank them enough. The procedure itself was quick and easy. The next morning I was already seeing 20/20 out of both eyes. I’m super glad I had opted for the Contoura package as my glare/halos aren’t as bad as I originally thought would be post-op. The amazing vision I have is definitely an even trade off for the glare I do see around lights. I myself work at an ophthalmology office and have heard horror stories regarding dry eyes after LASIK, but my eyes feel great and not dry whatsoever. I was pretty religious about using my oasis drops for the first couple months and now only use them when I see them laying around. I couldn’t be happier with my entire experience with LASIK and Dr. Rowen!
Dr. Rowen is outstanding as a person and a professional. Her surgical work on my eyes has given me better sight than I have ever had. I now see 20/15. Everything is in sharp focus with vivid colors. When it comes to your vision, you will want the best surgeon it's possible to have. I'm happy to report that Dr. Sherri Rowen is that surgeon.

Dr. Rowan, performed absolutely fantastic surgery for both of my cataract surgeries. I don’t know how any surgeon could have performed better. Dr. Rowan was very specific about the type of lenses needed for my correction, and the results are perfect. I can’t thank her enough for doing the job right. I think the correction I received was called “mono vision “.
