Dr Khachikian was great! He performed 2 procedures on both eyes. The care was seamless and I could not be happier with the results. I had a question after I left and my call was answered quickly by his nurse. Would see him again in a heartbeat!
The Black Hills Eye Institute was a very welcoming, truly caring and professional place for my referral. Dr. Khachikian, Dr. Clark and everyone else who helped me through the process showed concern, compassion and reassurance. I truly appreciate the fact that I can now SEE and I have all of them to thank!
I couldn't pass the DMV eye test because of cataracts in both eyes. My optometrist referred me to Dr. Khachikian. The whole BHEI experience was super impressive. After meeting with Dr K and deciding on the new "light adjustable lens," the process started. I show up at 0900 two weeks later and enter a queue where one professional staff member after another runs me through tests, measurements, etc. Finally, I'm on a gurney. I'm still wearing my street clothes and shoes. They had me put on a hospital shirt over my own. I get the warm blanket and leg pillow. A nurse administers a whole bunch of eye drops and attaches all the gear, i.e., an armband, a finger clip, an IV, etc. The anesthesiologist comes in, does his interview, and within a few minutes, I'm in Lala Land; conscious, but pretty out of it. Next I know, I'm back in the curtain cubicle, still kind of out of it. I had something to drink and a cookie, I think. Into a wheelchair, out to the car and home, where I had a long nap. Couldn't see very well because of the eye drops. Took a day and a half before the effects of the drops wore off. You go back the day after the procedure for a full eye exam. The following day, you wake up in the morning and WOW! I could see better than I could in eighth grade. No pain, no problem. Thank you, Dr K
Dr. Khachikian removed cataracts from both of my eyes recently. The entire process - including the surgeries - went very smoothly. Dr. K and the staff were very kind & professional, and they explained everything about the procedures. These surgeries corrected my vision more than I expected. I no longer have to wear prescription glasses - only readers. Thank you, Dr. Khachikian for your superb treatment.
Friendly knowledgeable staff. Explaining the process and made me feel comfortable.
