Dr. Brian Solinsky did my cataract surgery in both eyes and surgery went great. He is excellent. However, when I first spoke to him in the office about selecting lenses he 100% said to me insurance will cover this. My expectations after the consultation was I was covered and it wouldn't cost me anything. Fast forward a month after the second eye was done I get 2 huge bills! One was for the "use of the facility" that nobody mentioned, not even Newington hospital when I presented my insurance card and photo i.d. The second bill was from the insurance company which was a surprise also. Then I remembered when I was lying in the bed right before surgery with an I.V. in me and having about 15 eye drops administered in my eye, they came around with papers for me to sign! A HUGE RED FLAG. I have been sending them $100 a month as partial payment, but I think I am going to stop payment all together because I am pissed about the use of facility charge. Patients need to report this to the State Of Connecticut and message Senator Blumenthal about this bullshit.
Response from the ownerWe appreciate feedback regarding our services and are glad to hear positive remarks about the surgical outcomes. We understand that billing and insurance matters can be complex and sometimes unexpected charges may arise. Our practice is committed to transparency and assisting with any billing inquiries. We encourage individuals to reach out to our billing department for clarification and support. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.First of all you have to sit in wait in the waiting room for a long time then someone brings you in and then they do the eye testing then they take you out where you have to wait and wait again before you have to see the doctor. Then, the doctor doesn’t know what he’s doing or what you have he can’t diagnose it properly and refers you to another doctor which for me was Dr. Lee and they could’ve done that in the first place and I wouldn’t have wasted an hour in a half sitting there. Then wait another month to book another appointment just to see him. Wasted all my time for a misdiagnosis. And told them that I could have a second opinion. And months back I called to book an appointment for my child and the receptionist was very rude. She had such a horrible attitude was speaking aggressively over the phone and hung up immediately. You should not go here go somewhere else for your well being. The waiting room is literally a JUNGLE. It was packed like sardines. I scheduled many appointments and paid so much co pays just to get a misdiagnosis. How awful.
Response from the ownerOur practice is committed to providing quality health care and values all feedback. We understand that waiting times and communication are important aspects of service, and we are continuously working to improve in these areas. We appreciate your input and are dedicated to enhancing the overall care experience for everyone. Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention.Horrible place. They misdiagnosed me so now you lost customers were never coming back again. Please be aware these “doctors” don’t know what they’re doing.
Response from the ownerOur practice is committed to providing quality health care and we take feedback seriously. We strive to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective communication. If there are concerns about the care provided, we encourage reaching out directly to discuss any issues. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.I hear the doctors are good at this practice and my experience was the nurses are all very kind and nice. That said, the place is litterally like a zoo. No joke there were 50 people piled into the waiting room when I arrived. My appointment time was 9:40 am- it was 10:05 before I was seen for a quick review but then put into another small waiting area with more people packed like sardines. There people just waited and waited and waited..... This practice has no respect for your time. They hurd you like cattle and obviously overbook on purpose and by design. I spoke with people that have been there asiitngir over 2 hours. The building is awful, not easy to get in or out of and there is no sense patience are appreciated or that their time is valued. If you want to be run through a puppy mill and treated like a farm animal this is your place, just be prepared to block off your entire day.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.Everyone who works at this facility is great, but if you are lucky Tony will be the one who gets you prepped for your appointment. He is amazingly kind, patient and thoughtful. I loved my experience here.

We appreciate the recognition of our staff's efforts and look forward to continuing to serve the community with excellence.Muy bueno, acogedor, super amigables de verdad vale la pena ser pacientes muy diligentes y muy buenos Dr. Pero en el nuevo local todavía falta un poco de organización
I had the pleasure of working with Faheem after both surgeries prior to meeting with Dr. Solinsky. He demonstrates both professionalism and a quiet confidence that is noticeable as a patient. Greatly appreciated
Response from the ownerOur practice is committed to providing quality health care and appreciates feedback. We are glad to hear positive comments about our team members' professionalism and confidence. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.I've been going to this practice for over 25 years now and I have never had a bad experience until they moved offices in West Hartford. Staff was rude from the person at the front desk to Dr. Solinsky himself. Front desk staff rolled their eyes at me, Dr was condescending and rough and no one there was on the same page. Also to add insult to a terrible visit, the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible at all. Just 3 small regular stalls with no grab bars and narrow door with no room for a wheelchair. Am I supposed to go in my pants? Building and office is barely handicap accessible with both having very heavy doors to get in. Gone way down hill, but have a new "fancy office"

Thank you again for your feedback—it helps us improve and better serve our patients.Reception is very rude, she has a nasty attitude over the phone, no decorum whatsoever and professionalism. That same receptionist also ended the call TWICE on my insurance that was explaining my situation to get cared. Would give 0/10 if I can. Would never like to speak to that rude Receptionist ever again.
