Everything went well with my first cataract lens. Today is my other eye surgery. I look forward to having it done and so far it really has been a great experience. Listen to your instructions for care and it's truly painless! Happy with Ship & Wooten. Everyone is kind and makes sure your experience is good.
- Response from the ownerThank you for the 5 Star review! We appreciate you and your feedback.
As a Doctor I can call him them and I can get someone that day withoit questions, a valuable asset to the community . Dr Wm Ryan Bartz. Selmer Tn
Response from the ownerThank you for the 5 Star review! We appreciate you and your feedback.Issues telling me they can get glasses with medical then said they don’t take vision. Then I cancelled appointment and still got a letter in my mail for a no cancellation fee for $25 when I cancelled appointment and never even been to this doctors office yet still I get charged. It’s ridiculous every time I called was just confusion and told different things everytime I called like they don’t know how to do their job or what is going on. Very sad actually this isn’t how a doctors office should run.
Response from the ownerThank you for sharing your feedback. We take patient satisfaction very seriously and always appreciate the opportunity to clarify our billing and insurance processes. Any New or New Referrals should not be charged a No-Show fee or a cancellation fee and if a patient has received one it would have been inadvertently sent. Regarding scheduling administrative errors, our policy is to immediately void any accidental billing charges, including scheduling oversights or miscommunicated no-show fees as soon as they are brought to our attention. We are glad our billing team was able to resolve this administrative misunderstanding and zero out the balance. We also want to clarify how insurance coordinates with specialized eye care. As a medical ophthalmology practice, our services are billed through medical health insurance rather than routine vision plans. Standard medical insurance policies do not provide coverage for hardware like eyeglasses or frames at an ophthalmologist's office. The only exception is under federal Medicare guidelines, which provide a one-time allowance for standard glasses specifically for patients who have undergone cataract surgery. For routine vision care and standard eyewear coverage, patients generally utilize a routine vision plan at an optometrist’s office. We always strive to deliver clear communication and exceptional care.I don't usually leave reviews, but Dr. Wooten and his team were incredible. After being misdiagnosed elsewhere, they identified my rare and very painful eye condition within 15 minutes. Dr. Wooten made time in his schedule to perform a laser procedure immediately, and I walked out, well on the road to recovery, in less than two hours. I’m so grateful for their expertise—highly recommended!
Some of the nicest people I have ever met on both sides. They're all good at their jobs but take time to make sure you understand everything. I had cataract surgery with laser on both eyes. Now seeing like I never had anything wrong with them! Thank you so much to the Drs and staff! Y'all are wonderful!
Do not waste your time. Was there for 4 hours and walked out. Spouse had the same experience
I have never dealt with a place like this before. Let me get into it. I made an appointment for an eye appointment cause usually I just go to Walmart or something for eye exam. I decided to go here to get a really good exam. I made the appointment and told them my insurance information. Scheduled a day off work and got a ride set up ( did not know if i needed a ride to eyes being dilated). A few days later I decided I better check with my insurance to be sure I was covered. Well I was informed I wasn't. I called Smith and Wooten on July 1st to cancel. When speaking to an office worker about canceling I was informed that my insurance was taken. I did say to the lady, "Are you sure cause my insurance company says I'm not covered" she said it was so I kept my appointment. Now I did have an appointment with my local optometrist, but I canceled upon hearing I was covered. Well my appointment was July 11th, they call july 8th at 3:51 to inform me that I was not covered. Are you serious, three days before my appointment you call to tell me this. I even called to cancel, told you that my insurance would not be taken and this place told me that it is covered. It might have been my fault, but I trusted these workers here at Smith and Wooten knew what they were talking about. It really frustrated me due to that I already canceled my other appointment, which usually takes a month to get in. So now I have to wait a month with my last pair of contacts to get back in. ( Now my other eye doctors office has worked with me thank god and is helping me out with contacts until my appointment a month off). Also I already took off work for this appointment. Luckily the person that was taken me wasn't put out also. I am just frustrated and angry. Now I'm just a common one blue collar worker and probably dont matter, but feel like I did the right things to be sure i had an appointment. It is my opinon that Smith and Wooten doesn't care and why should they cause there is more people waiting. We can all agree to disagree, but I little courteous customer service goes a long way and I feel they could have ran the insurance when I first questioned it to bevsure. Anyway I'm sure the doctor's are great, but some things need to be better I think.
Nice caring people
