Dr. Kuumba Long, MD

Dr. Kuumba Long, M.D., F.A.A.O., F.A.C.S., is a board-certified ophthalmologist and Fellow of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the prestigious UC Davis Eye Center. Dr. Long specializes in cataract surgery, lid abnormalities, glaucoma care, and pediatric eye disease. Before joining Cataract & Laser Institute, he gained extensive experience at Indiana University’s Ophthalmology Department. Known for his compassionate care and surgical precision, Dr. Long believes in listening closely to his patients and staying at the forefront of innovation. Outside of work, he volunteers at Trinity Free Clinic and supports St. Jude Children’s Hospital. He enjoys fitness, basketball, and family time with his wife and two daughters.
