I got the SMILE procedure done in February 2023 by Dr Bansal. Previously, I had pretty bad myopia (-4.5, -5.25) respectively for each eye and a touch of astigmatism, too. I had a brief onboarding session, then a week or so later, went in for the surgery. The procedure was quick and painless, apart from a little stinging the day of afterwards. I was able to work the next day and my eyesight is now 25:20! Excellent work from Dr Bansal - I have no regrets getting the procedure done and don’t require any correction anymore!

Dr Bansal, Opthamologist & Surgeon & Dr Kuhen, anesthesiologist, removed thick cataracts from both eyes. The Drs and their large staff were so attentive as if I was their only patient. I had 2 nurses on me at all times plus nurse in O.R.. Procedure was so quick and painless and recovery was short. Within 2 days I can see perfectly and I’m legal to drive without glasses. Although surgery was quick, prep was very detailed with blood pressure cuff, IV, oxygen, antibacterial scrub, special eye drops, “party” hat to cover hair, mask, warm blanket, heart monitors, something else clipped to top of index finger….all in a comfortable, padded bed. It was incredible how well they took care of me. I am so happy I can see! They treat you like you are important and not just a number. They take their job very serious yet they are fun. Office and O.R. both absolutely immaculate! You will never regret having your vision fixed by this wonderful group of people who act as a team and a family! Also, Dr Bansal personally checks each eye the day after surgery and then again 2 weeks later. It doesn’t get any better than this. They don’t just correct your vision and forget about you. They follow up till the very end! Thank you to the entire staff of professionals who took the time to go to school and worked hard so that I can see! 🌸

There were several problems, the first being the inconsistent cost between ad and in office offer. When I finally met the surgeon he said he was going to triple check me then be available for any questions. After he performed the tests that he wanted to check then he said you might need reading glasses as early as tomorrow and then went out the door very quickly with no time for questions. I had S.M.I.L.E. Surgery and I can see at a distance my peripheral vision is very blurry. It’s been one month and when I told the ophthalmologist this in my follow up she said nobody else says this feedback. That’s another red flag. My hypothesis is that I’m not the only one who feels their vision is still blurry, but this office is saying nobody else has this complaint. And my vision up close is gone. I know several people whom can still see up close and they are in their 70’s. But this office says it’s due to my age even though I know it’s due to the surgery because it changed as a direct result of surgery. Very disappointed with this office, and surgery.

Dr. Bansal is THE GREATEST! Thanks to Dr. Bansal, I have the best vision I’ve ever had! I recently had laser cataract surgery (both eyes) with Dr. Bansal, and I can definitively say that the entire experience with LaserVue/Dr. Bansal, from initial consultation through post-surgical follow-ups, was superlative. As I have a couple of underlying ophthalmic factors that would complicate “routine” cataract surgery, I consulted with several other cataract surgeons before choosing Dr. Bansal. And am I ever glad I did go with Dr. Bansal! He is highly skilled, experienced, and knowledgeable about new techniques and equipment. Equally significant is that he assesses and treats each patient as an individual case, and actually listens to the patient. He is realistic with the patient: he does not over-promise or oversell in any way. He is clearly someone who loves his work, and wants to achieve the best outcome for the specific patient before him. Dr. Bansal is the real deal. The LaserVue staff is knowledgeable , helpful, and professional. The entire cataract surgery process is intelligently planned and thorough. The Santa Rosa surgery center, which is where Dr. Bansal does cataract surgery, is immaculate, comfortable, and well-organized. I’ve seen Dr. Bansal in his San Francisco office as well as in his Santa Rosa (the main) office, and both experiences were head and shoulders above some of the other offices/surgery locations I saw. After seeing the results of my surgery, and hearing about my whole experience with Dr. Bansal, many of my friends and colleagues want to go to Dr. Bansal for their surgeries. Smart! Who ever knew having cataract surgery could be so fantastic?!
