I had a very disappointing experience with the front desk at this office, specifically with Chelsea, the patient coordinator. We travel about two hours to this office, so having appointments scheduled correctly is extremely important. Unfortunately, Chelsea has now scheduled our appointments incorrectly twice. The first time, the appointment was scheduled with a doctor on a day that doctor wasn't even seeing patients at this location. Thankfully, another receptionist recognized the mistake, figured out what had happened, and rescheduled the appointment. At our most recent visit, we arrived with the handwritten appointment card Chelsea had given us at our previous appointment just two weeks earlier. However, when we checked in, she couldn't find the appointment in the system. She repeatedly asked for the patient's name, which doctor we were there to see, and reason we were there. We've been coming to this office for years and have never had to answer those questions during check-in. Even after we showed the handwritten appointment card, there was no acknowledgment of the scheduling issue or apology. We were simply told to wait. We ended up waiting about 2 hours while several patients who arrived after us were seen first. When we asked about the delay, we were only told to keep waiting, with no explanation. It felt like our appointment had not been properly entered into the system and that we were only added to the queue after we arrived. I understand that mistakes can happen, but having the same scheduling issue occur twice, especially for patients traveling such a long distance is incredibly frustrating. What disappointed me most wasn't just the mistake itself, but the lack of accountability and communication. A simple apology and explanation of what happened would have made a big difference. The doctors at this practice have always provided excellent care, which is why we've continued making the long trip. Unfortunately, the repeated scheduling issues and poor customer service at the front desk left us with a very disappointing experience. I really hope the office reviews its scheduling procedures and emphasizes better communication with patients.

I had an appointment @2:10 pm and I was early. I was informed that it would be at least a 45 minute wait. I said well I'll come back in about 30 minutes. I was informed if I left my appointment would be cancelled and I would have to reschedule. I did not leave there until 4:14pm. My time is just as valuable as theirs. I had to take a day off work to make this appointment. Very disappointing that some places charge you if you don't show or your late but I didn't get a discount because they were late😞

I was referred here by my OD for glaucoma testing. When I arrived the lady whom checked me in (2pm appointment) was quick and I was seated quickly… however… this is where I experienced a significant wait. Approx 40 minutes before getting called back. Once I was called by my tech- she was very sweet and engaging in conversation. She administered the drops and gave me a fair notice that they would do more drops than my general OD. They always say it won’t affect your vision but it definitely does for me… have someone drive you if you’re dilated. Overall good experience so far besides the initial wait…. But there’s more. We wrapped up and now she brings me to a second waiting area in front of the check out desk (another 15 minutes). Waiting while they let the drops do its thing I get it… then I finally go into one room she takes the pictures of the inside of my eyes. Sends me back out to wait for the next test…. Waited for the guy in front of me to take his test (approx 10 mins wait). The exam itself was probably 6 minutes max. We finally wrapped up, then walked me around the back to wait in…. ANOTHER waiting area. Here I waited approx 25 minutes before finally being called in to see Dr. Day. Now, I will say to be completely fair, my Dr. told me “Hey Dr. Day is very dry but a straight to the point kind of guy. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything but he’s good at what he does”. Got it, hell I love that, don’t butter me up, make me feel good before I get bad news right? Dr. Day is exactly as advertised BUT don’t let that turn you off. He answered all my questions and I felt completely comfortable with what/how he explained everything to me. If this appointment would have been under an hour, 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ but it was sooooooo excessive. My appointment was at 2pm I got there at 1:50. I ended up leaving at 3:47 The facility itself was clean, and pretty big compared to what you see from outside. Like I said, employees were great and Dr. Day was thorough. The wait is what killed it for me but genuinely 4 stars for me.

The overall experience was unacceptable due to the excessive wait time. I waited over an hour for the initial test and more than another hour to see the doctor. I had already been waiting about 30 minutes when the doctor arrived at the office, which caused further delays. This happens every time I have an appointment since my surgery. Patients’ time should be respected.

I wish I can give negative stars. Dr Day is extremely slow and behind most of the time. You will be taken into room for a quick eye exam and then taken back into waiting area and sot there for at least one hour to one hour and a half. If you have a busy schedule, please go elsewhere. Do not waste your time.

Disappointing Experience with Woolfson Eye Institute – Lawrenceville Office I had cataract surgery at Woolfson Eye Institute’s Lawrenceville location, and my experience was deeply frustrating and disappointing. Here are the key issues I encountered: 1) Questionable Surgical Recommendations: It seems every patient referred to this office ends up having surgery, whether it's truly necessary or not. I felt pressured into proceeding without a thorough discussion of alternatives. 2) Worsened Vision: After surgery, my vision became worse than before. I expected improvement, but instead, I’m left with regret and diminished eyesight. 3) Deceptive Billing Practices: I was quoted a good faith estimate before agreeing to surgery but ended up paying nearly three times that amount. The billing was not transparent, and I felt misled. 4) Inconsistent Pricing: After paying in full for my first eye surgery, I was shocked to be charged four times more for the second eye. Their explanation? “We changed our system.” This felt unethical and exploitative, especially since patients are unlikely to walk away after completing one eye. 5) Overbilling and Lack of Accountability: Even after both I and my insurance paid in full, I continued to receive bills. The institute appears more focused on maximizing billing than on patient care. In summary, Woolfson Eye Institute’s practices raise serious ethical concerns. From unnecessary surgeries to deceptive billing, I would caution others to seek a second opinion before committing to any procedure here.
